Watts Floodsafe Toilet Connector Question?

I installed a Watts Floodsafe supply line on my basement toilet after a basement remodel. It worked for one day, now it shuts off the water supply if I open the supply valve more than half way, and if I leave it less than halfway open it activates and shuts off the every time I flush it-so I have to take it off to reset it every time. I am positive it’s installed correctly and it’s not over tightened, I’ve also tried a second hose and a second toilet supply valve. Anybody have any experience with these things? The only two problems I see might be that the hose might have a bend too close to the supply connector, or the supply valve itself might be too old and supply too much pressure, could either of these be problems?

  1. The way these work is that they shut down if they sense too much flow (not pressure). The demand from the toilet is activating it. You’re better off getting rid of the Floodsafe and buying a good standard braided line instead.

  2. I got a couple of those things last year and installed on in the bathroom sink. It failed and I installed another one. It will be replaced ASAP. The idea is is good, the practical application is sh**. The one I replaced was less than a year old and I’ll never use them again.
