sticky stuff on white metal shelves?

I just bought a condo in South Florida and all the closets (7) have the white metal shelving. They are covered in this yellow goo. I have tried everything and can’t get it off. I can’t afford all new shelves at this time.

Help!

  1. Rubbing alcohol works really well to get sticky stuff off. Or you can use goo-gone, usually found in the automotive section at walmart.

  2. mr clean magic eraser you can buy them at your local supermarket just wet the sponge and wipe.you will find them in the cleaning isle.

  3. Try Lestoil. I think it will work. Good Luck.

  4. spray with wd40 use a scraper takes it right off best stuff in the world for sticky stuff
then just wash off with warm water
