My shower has stopped working!!! I have power to the shower unit but no water flow when I turn the knobs, any?

I have checked power to both the pull cord & shower unit, thats ok. But when I turn the flow knob nothing happens. I seem to remember some sort of reset switch in the shower unit.

  1. Hi, it could be a few things
1.Airlock ,Did you run a bath or use a large amount of water just b4 this occurred?
2.Solenoid switch, if this is ‘gone’ water will not flow.
3.Filter, Was there a gradual drop in flow rate over time?
4.Filter, Large blockage has got into pipework,(rare) such as debris from the attic ,insulation ,christmas decorations, mice , birds, etc.
    Warning!!
Do not open the shower cover with the electricity on , voltage in an electric shower is supplied at high amperage and is therefore extremely dangerous.

  2. I am going to spell this incorrectly. The solenoid has bunrt out and needs replacing. Don’t ask me how this is done because I always call in an electrician

  3. Unscrew your showerhead. If you get good pressure then, you will need to clean/ replace the showerhead.

  4. There is a small plastic filter on the cold inlet to the shower. Unscrew it and check that it is clear. If that is okay, then the solenoid valve has failed.

  5. if you seem to remember one then that would be the first thing i would check

  6. It seems 1 or 2 have already told you the answer.
    The solenoid has failed.
If this is a Triton Shower You can contact them on 02476372222.
They will be able to tell you if the part is available or if a compatible shower unit is available.
I suggest you get a tradesman to change this for you if you don’t feel confident.
