How far should the recessed lighting away from upper cabinet?

I have 9 ft. ceilings. My upper cabinet above fridge are 24" deep and up to ceiling, the rest of upper cabinets are 12" deep. My pot light is 5". I am wondering how far the recessed lighting should away from upper cabinet?

I’m sure they’re made for the use you’re putting them to – I don’t think your cabinets are in any danger. A foot or so of clearance will be OK.
But I have seen fires set in the attic by recessed lightning.. So probably best to think along the lines of using a little smaller spot light than you’d want to use.
