I have a GE fridge with the freezer on top. I would like to remove the ice maker (don’t use it), but have no idea how. I can’t find any usefull stuff (manuals, etc) out there. Could somebody help with this? The fridge is new to me, Model GTS22KB or GTS22SB (not sure which). Thanks!

I just replaced mine. It was held in place with four screws. The wires were a little more difficult. They plugged into the unit and I had to figure out how to unfasten the lock for the plug.
Good idea about unplugging the frig while you do this so that the water doesn’t turn on, that is, if you have the water connected.
Unplug it. Disconnect the water tap. Yank the thing out. Insulate (tape up) exposed wiring. Re-plug. Good to go.
