How can I get rid of horrible hard water build up in my tub/shower?

My tub/ shower surround is tan so it just looks awful right now. The build up is so thick that I even tried using an old credit card to scrape it. Cleaners don’t seem to work(I’ve tried kaboom, it helped some). Is there anything I can do to get rid of it?

CLR works great. My parents have the *worst* hard well water (we’re ‘talking virtually brown, makes your hair dry with split ends, can’t buy anything white and expect to wash it at home’ HARD water) and it takes the stains off their tub, toilet etc.
Did you try CLR?
get a commercial descaler/delimer product from lowes.its goin be strong and smell so wear rubber gloves and a mask but it should do the trick
clr cleaner works good, and get yourself a water softing system.
you can use muratic acid, you can buy tis at a pharmacy or cotractors use it to wash bicks down. before you use it, I will warn you that you better have good ventilation or it will take your breathe.
try greased lightning,,its at ur walmart stores or k-mart.thats the only thing i can use in my tub and shower too
Try the works toilet bowl cleaner, believe me it works. It is under a dollar and it is the only thing that will remove my daily rust and hard water stains from my tub. Baking soda made into a paste will remove what the works doesn’t. This is so easy i think you will be amazed.
Get a very large box of baking soda, and a gallon of vinegar, Put baking soda in shaker then sprinkle the baking soda on floor of the shower, now that you have done that pour gently the vinegar on the baking soda. You may need to stand back, because it does bubble up and eat at the corrosion. Keep doing this until all the build up is gone. This will also clean the pipes so don’t worry about it running down the drain.
