Best way do find deals on Cabinets?

Need some new, used or clearanced cabinets for the kitchen and bath. How can I find out about clearenced or wholesale cabinets in my area? For I have been checking the home depots, craigslist, and ebay.

Also what is the difference between refaced and resurfaced cabinets? And what would that cost the have done?
Oh and how do I find a freight damage outlet store? Do they even list that in the yellow pages?

  1. Once a year large cabinet companies like KraftMaid, Wellborn, American Standard, etc., have a clear out week when they sell all the returned cabinets from dealers throughout the year. Just calling the companies direct and ask.

  2. Look for a freight damaged outlet store in your area. Very often one piece will be damaged and the entire set is refused you can get some awesome deals there. Refaced means a covering (usually a laminate) is glued to your cabinets. Resurfaced means the wood in your cabinets is of sufficient quality to change the way they are finished although that is usually called refinishing so maybe refaced and resurfaced are the same thing.

  3. We have 2 damaged freight stores in my area, they’re great. There’s no damage on the things here, just very cheap. 1 is connected to a carpet outlet store, the other is a carpet & building supply store. Try looking up building supply stores in the yellow pages. You can try googling damaged freight in your area, I can’t think they don’t have these stores anywhere else.

  4. they have some great answers you can also try your donation centers for building materials. habitat for humanity is one. they sale both new and used. sometimes the contractor orders the wrong ones so if they donate them at least they get a tax write off.
